I agree with the adverb in the video title. I may not be in the buckle but I am in the bible belt. I live 2.2 miles from work. During my daily commute, I pass by no less than 4 churches, one Christian childcare, and one closed church (formally a bowling alley and now a city bus storage lot). My place of employment even has a chapel in the facility and chaplains on staff. I have coworkers that literally believe in Noah's Ark and planned a group trip to visit the Ark Encounter. During my lunch break, receptionists are listening to preachers talking in tongues on their cell phones.

The praise for their "spiritual leaders" opens up the way for sexual and violent abuses. I already have problems with the public churches (catholic and Protestant). The biggest problem with this video is the person doesn't understand the difference between "religion" and "Christianity". Unless you understand that you can't discuss this issue. Religion is the organizational group that makes agreed upon rules to deseminate the message of the Bible, God, and Christ's salvation. Religion is man-made and not perfect. Christianity is the practice of life after belief in salvation by Christ's death on the cross, as demonstrated by Jesus' life on earth. One must also discuss the difference between a "Christian" as it pertains to a "Believer in Jesus Christ", and the use of the word Christian where people include Cathloics, Baptists, Presbyterians, Anglicans, Assembly of God - and a bunch more. Those are different definitions of the word "Christian" to people. Believers use the first definition to mean Christian - someone who has believed in the grace gift of Jesus Christ's death on the cross, and resurrection, thereby having eternal salvation without works. Period. Uninformed people use the word Christian to refer to religious groups that aren't Jewish, Muslim, or Buddist, That's not a correct use of the word. It would be better to define those groups as Protestant and Catholic.

Fun fact: If you google why the pilgrims went to America in English, the answer is for religious freedom. If you google the same question in german, it says because the wanted to live out their radical religious beliefs.

I've been perplexed for some time, why so many people worldwide, even after the enlightenment and the every growing body of evidence and genuine provable truths, somehow still retain ironclad beliefs in prehistoric notions of obvious fantasies. More of the blanks have been filled in. Persistent propaganda, economic and environmental conditions join the basic fear of death. I believe eventually mankind will evolve out of these delusions. Though on an evolutionary scale timeline. For it is evolution after all

Video is a bit useless if you ignore black Protestantism pretty much completely and how it managed to play a role in both keeping slaves compliant but also managed to flip itself round and play a massive role in the civil rights movement keeping it a relevant cultural force in African American life due to its ability to be flexible.
